A quick scan of my identity

Lynda

How old are you?

A bit older than my teeth but the same age as my tongue. I am what people call "a certain age", which means that I'm beginning to stop caring about what people think.

Where do you come from?

My Mum says that I was awkward coming out and I've been awkward ever since. I was born in Oldham, a mill town near Manchester.

When did you start writing?

Ever since I was a little girl I have written stories and poems. Day dreaming and weaving stories are part of my DNA. I'm always "at it".

Where do you get your ideas from?

All sorts of weird and wonderful places. I am greedy and curious. I want to live other people's lives for them. My head is always packed with snippets of ideas or characters.

What do you like doing when you're not writing?

cup of tea

I love reading…
…discovering new parts of London…
…watching black and white movies on TV…
…going to see anti folk and indie bands and standing at the front with my friend James…
…finding bargains at car boot sales…
…second hand book shops…
…afternoon tea…
…watching silent movies on a big screen with Neil Brand playing the piano…
…bird watching…
…cat stroking…
…going to horror movies with Dave (he gets really scared!)…
…laughing with friends.
